Let's Grow Grants Round One - Application Form

* indicates a required field.

Introduction

The State Government is offering the first round of the Let’s Grow Grants to help schools, community groups and not-for-profit organisations plant more trees and low-level vegetation across Whadjuk (Perth) and Bindjareb (Peel) regions.

The Let’s Grow Grants program supports urban planting projects that:

  • Create leafy, shady and cool places
  • Green urban areas
  • Focus on tree planting
  • Consider low-level vegetation too
  • Deliver a range of benefits for people, wildlife and nature
  • Make good use of public grant funds.

This application form should be used for applying for either Stream 1 ($500 - $10,000) or Stream 2 ($10,001 - $100,000) of the Let's Grow Grants Round One. Refer to the Let's Grow Grants Round One Guidelines and accompanying Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Eligibility check

You can apply for a Let's Grow Grant Round One if you are operating in Western Australia and are one of the following:

  • A registered government or non-government school
  • An incorporated, not-for-profit community group (for example P&C groups, Friends of groups, sporting, recreation or residents’ groups), incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (WA)
  • A charity not-for-profit organisation, as registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.

If your group doesn’t meet all the eligible applicant requirements, you can still apply via a project sponsor who must then complete the Project Sponsor details and will be responsible for entering into the Funding Agreement on your behalf.

Local governments and State agencies can be sponsors, even though they can’t apply directly.

Is your planting project located in the Whadjuk (Perth) or Bindjareb (Peel) regions? * Required
A full list of suburbs located within the Perth and Peel regions can be found in the "documents" section on the Let's Grow Grants web page if unsure.
Does your planting project prioritise tree planting in an urban area? * Required
We are looking for planting projects that focus on trees and help work towards the tree canopy target. The focus is also on planting in urban settings (e.g. residential or built-up areas where the majority of people live or work).
Is the Applicant either a registered school, an incorporated not-for-profit community group, a charity organisation or has an eligible project sponsor? * Required
Refer to the Let's Grow Grants Guidelines to assist in understanding applicant eligibility. If a group or organisation does not meet the full applicant eligibility (e.g. unincorporated not-for-profit groups) they may approach another organisation who is eligible or a local government to be their project sponsor and who will then enter into a Funding Agreement on their behalf.
Does the planting project in this application have the support of the school or community group or organisation to proceed if the grant is awarded? * Required
All grant applications should first have agreed on the proposed planting project and location in consultation with the applicable school or community group/organisation before completing an application, noting that the appropriate landowner, responsible land manager or school principal approval will also be required.
